Description of Steiner Peregrine XP 10x44 Binoculars Utilizing a new high pressure die-cast, lightweight Magnesium chassis, the new Peregrine XP delivers truest color, high image contrast and light transmission combined with rugged waterproof and submersible protection. With its water-repelling "NANO-Protection" coating on the 44mm objective lenses and oversized 30mm ocular lenses, images are always clear, even in rain and snow. The new dielectric mirror and XP optical coating make Steiner's XP lens technology unique and offer the discriminating user new levels of performance. An added benefit is that the new design offers the user an exceptionally high depth of field, uncommon with roof prism binoculars and extremely beneficial in low light wildlife observation. Combined with new, twist-up/down eye cup system that comes standard with flip-shroud eyecups. The new lightweight Magnesium housing incorporates Steiner's unique Nitrogen Purging and Pressurization process making moisture invasion a virtual impossibility in any climate. The Peregrine XP's new 44mm objective lenses are nearly 10% larger than a 42mm lenses transmitting more light. The new XP binocular also has an exceptionally large 30 mm ocular lens. These larger lenses combined with XP Lens Technology and the binocular's ergonomic body design with fast focusing system give it rapid handling that makes focusing on close or distant subjects easy and comfortable. The New Peregrine XP Binoculars feature an ergonomically shaped rubber covered body in an attractive, dark forest green color. Embedded in the armor, Steiner has used a new gel-filled grip and thumb pad that adds a considerable amount of grip and comfort when holding and viewing with the binoculars. Higher magnification usually means a narrow field of view. With the 10x44 Peregrine, we've managed to keep the viewing field width very high with an angle of 6.25°. The wide field, combined with 10x magnification makes the 10x44 XP the ideal binocular for up-close discovery.
